A day out and about

For a recent art lesson, my friend Charlene and I met at Molbak’s, a local garden center, to draw and sketch there. It’s a beautiful place with lots of treasures, botanical and otherwise, in every corner. It’s always a challenge to decide what to focus on. While I was drawing the orchid, the puppy Bhodi and his human family passed by. Since I was already sitting on the ground, I was at the perfect height to meet him; a four month old puppy. He was so soft and gentle. I asked if I could take his picture so I could add him to my spread later and his owner said, sure. She also asked if I’d send her a copy of him if I did end up painting him. No pressure, said she. None taken. Happily, however, the pictures I took were clear and he turned out nicely. A copy has now been sent to his owner. 🙂

A sketch booking outing
